The California Integrated Waste Management Board recognized Swinerton Builders as one of the top waste reducing companies in California as it awarded Swinerton with its seventh consecutive WRAP award.

The WRAP (Waste Reduction Awards Program) award honors California businesses that reduce waste. Through its construction debris recycling programs, its green construction techniques and its outreach efforts in educating its employees, subcontractors and clients in the benefits of waste reduction, Swinerton has demonstrated for the seventh consecutive year that it is a leader in waste reduction.

Highlights of Swinerton's waste reduction efforts include:

- 80% average recovery rate of construction debris at all of its projects

- Approximately 24,000 tons of construction debris recycled

"We are proud to be recognized for the hard work of our employee-owners, clients, and subcontractor partners in reducing and recycling construction waste," said Swinerton Builders Northern California President Charlie Kuffner.

Swinerton has won a WRAP award every year since being named WRAP of the Year in 1999. Swinerton Builders provides a full range of pre-construction and construction services to clients throughout the Western United States. The employee owned firm posted sales of $2.2 billion in 2004.
