The State Franchise Tax Board project is a three-building complex
consisting of a two-story and a three-story office building and
a single-story town center. It is approximately 900,000 square
feet of structural steel frame, window wall and brick veneer exterior.
The building is designed to reflect the State of California’s
commitment to sustainable building practices and is targeting
a LEED certification. Sustainable building strategies include:
building within 100 feet of public transportation, brownfield
development, construction and demolition waste recycling, reuse
of demolished asphalt and concrete as sub-base in the parking
lots, low VOCs materials and recycled content products, bio-swales,
an Energy-Star rated roof, E-glass, and the use of Photovoltaics.
