Swinerton Management & Consulting Launches Green Services Division
Laura Rodormer, LEED AP, joined Swinerton Management & Consulting in October of 2007 to launch the company's new Green Consulting Services Division. Laura has over 17 years of experience encompassing Sustainable Development, Business Development, Client Relations and Program Management.

Prior to joining Swinerton, Laura was the Commercial Green Building Coordinator with the San Francisco Department of Environment where she established the LEED Gold Priority Permitting program to advance high-level green building in San Francisco. She also spent 10 years with Booz Allen Hamilton providing project management for the Environmental Protection Agency's Architecture, Engineering and Asset Management Branch. Additionally, Laura worked with Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum, Inc. and Global Green USA to develop sustainability programs.

At Swinerton Management & Consulting, Laura is focused on developing the company's Green Consulting Services. Service offerings include strategic visioning, LEED charrettes, training, facilitating project team efforts to deliver green building objectives, coordination with Municipal programs and marketing. Specialty market sector is Existing Buildings.

Laura serves as the Co-Chairman of the Business Council on Climate Change and the San Francisco Junior League Advocacy Committee. She has served as a Board Member of Build it Green and the Arthritis Foundation; Technical Advisory Board of West Coast Green; and Commission Member on the Arlington County Energy and Environmental Conservation Commission

ENR Top Green Contractors List Ranks Swinerton 4th in Top 50 Green Contractors
The sustainable construction market exploded in 2006, with "green building" morphing from a feel-good novelty to a ubiquitous presence on the industry landscape. ENR's first Top Green Contractors list is an attempt to measure this market by ranking contractors based on their revenue in 2006 from projects that were either registered or certified with a major third-party environmental standings or ratings group.

The ENR Top 50 Green Contractors generated $8.96 billion in revenue from such projects, 15.3% of their total contracting revenue.

Swinerton Headquarters is a Top Ten Finalist in the Center for the Built Environment's Livable Buildings Award
CBE's Livable Buildings Award Program applauded Swinerton's achievement for becoming one of ten finalists from among the hundreds of buildings that have used the CBE Occupant Survey. The Swinerton HQ at 260 Townsend Street was in good company.

Swinerton Builders Earns Eighth Consecutive Waste Reduction Award

Swinerton Builds on Sustainability
Swinerton never meant to go green - it just kind of happened.

Weyerhauser wanted a green-roofed office building in the early '70s, so Swinerton constructed it. Pac Bell had plans for energy efficient headquarters in the early '80s, so Swinerton built it. J.H. Snyder's Santa Monica Water Garden project included designs for a rain-water reclamation system in the early '90s, so Swinerton did it. "We weren't proactive in the movement at all, we were just doing what our clients wanted," said Swinerton CEO Gordon Marks.
